 Greco Custom - Johan Gustavsson Style - We just got a very nice Greco custom guitar from Japan that is quite unusual. The design looks like a mix between a Les Paul and a Telecaster, in fact it reminds me a bit of a Johan Gustavssons Bluesmaster or the new
Hamer Talladega guitar (I think both Greco and Hamer has looked at Johans Bluesmaster for design inspiration). The Greco was made in 2002, and is a real gem of a guitar. The woods are top notch, with mahogany in the body and the neck and a nice flamed maple cap. Rosewood fingerboard with MoP / Abalone inlays and with
Gotoh gold hardware. The pickups are from Greco, and they have a nice PAF tone and sound, and the controls are in the classic Les Paul fashion with two volume / two tone controls and a 3-way toggle switch on the upper horn.
This is a really nice Japanese object for guitar players that want something in the Johan Gustavsson Blusmaster style, without the costs and the waiting time associated with his awesome and amazing instruments. The price for one of Johan Gustavssons Bluesmaster guitars starts around @8.000:00, and the waiting time is around a year.

NATIONAL MAP guitars was made in USA between 1958-64 by VALCO. Jayro Newport is a tribute to the orginal NATIONAL Newport from 1962. The guitars are used today by artists such as David Lindley, Arlene Roth, David Bowie, The Cure, Calexico and White Stripes etc.
The Jayro Newport is made in Korea by Bacchus Guitars (one of Japans most respected guitar makers).
